Austin City Limits Says Goodbye to Studio 6A

November 17th, 2010 § 1 comment

What started out on October 17, 1974 as a way to showcase Texas musicians has today become an outlet for a multitude of genres with over 800 performers like Ray Charles, Robert Plant, Sufjan, Stevens, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Spoon, Roy Orbison, Coldplay, Johnny Cash, Wilco, Mos Def, The Flaming Lips, The Raconteurs, Allen Toussaint, Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, R.E.M., Van Morrison and Willie Nelson, just to name a handful.

Seeing an ACL taping is creeping closer to the top of my musical bucket list.

Mine, too! I tried to get into the final Lyle show, but it was by lottery or know-someone-who-owes-you-a-favor only. New studio, new chance, I suppose.
